Danni Fitzpatrick was born in Luton, England, just north-west of London on the 27th of February, 1990. She goes by the nickname Anndi much of the time. It is a simple rearrangement of the letters in her name, so as to not be confused with the many other Danni's in the world. She just graduated as a straight-"A" hounour student studying French, Spanish, and photography, among other things, at Centennial Secondary.

Anndi started with photography three years ago when she spent a winter in Spain and had nothing better to do. She is part of many online photography communities, including deviantART, where she showcases her work and gains feedback on how to improve. She also takes photography courses in school.

Her first camera was a Canon PowerShot S45 with 4MP. In the winter of 2005, she received a Nikon CoolPix 4600, also with 4MP, for Christmas. For her 17th birthday, she received an Olympus SP-510UZ, boasting 7.1MP with a 10x optical zoom. Just this May, Anndi purchased a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi (400D) DSLR with 10.1MP and a Canon EFS 18-55mm lens. She also uses a Soligor MB100 tripod, Opus slave flash, and LumiQuest soft screen.

In April 2006, she won a photography contest to have some of her work sold for charity. She was also approached to donate work to a silent auction to raise money for photographic equipment at an art school in Ohio. Her work was auctioned amongst that of notable professionals. Anndi's work was also entered in an exhibition in Paris known as PX3 in which she received an honourable mention. She currently holds two photography jobs, one for the Vancouver Museum and another as a volunteer photographer at the South Burnaby Neighbourhood House.

In her spare time, Anndi enjoys mountain biking, tennis, football (soccer), other sports, web design, and translation work. She's also an occasional blogger. Anndi is multi-lingual, currently able to speak and understand eight languages. Her plans for the future are to complete high school, attain a job at Ikea and Black's, then move back to England where she hopes to continue working for Ikea and also pursue a career in photography after studying it at a college in England. If photography as a career doesn't work out, Anndi plans to go into translation or interpretation work.

As the retired webmaster of the infamous ColourFun.com (June 2002 - June 2005), Anndi has had much experience in both digital graphic design using Photoshop (versions six through CS3) and in web design using HTML and JavaScript.

Photographic Style

Anndi's photos are recognised as being "alive" with colour. She prefers to make use of natural light, usually taking photos outdoors, or opening windows or setting up bright lights indoors. She likes to make the subject of her photos fill the frame, either using the zoom or getting up close.

Being young, and short, Anndi has been hired for photography "from a new perspective". At her previous job in Vancouver as a photojournalist, she worked amongst adults as the youngest member of staff. They accepted her excitedly on the basis that she could capture life from a younger point of view, and get down to levels which taller, older photographers can't or won't.

Anndi loves photography because it captures moments that not everyone has the chance to witness or experience. It gives people the opportunity to tell stories and share their lives. It also creates long-lasting records of moments and events that can be viewed by generations to come. Photography creates memories and stories, and brings new perspective to life. It helps people to notice details. It colours the world around us.

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

Anndi especially loves spontaneous child photography, because it captures those moments that can only happen once. Kids grow up so fast, and it's important to capture those precious years of childhood. She also particularly enjoys macro and still life photography.
